When you engulf yourself in a world that is beyond your character it's easy to become another version of yourself. This version may be a prototype that many people don't understand or worse...don't approve of. A year or so ago I surrounded myself within the tattoo industry and may have made some skin deep permanent decisions that unfortunately I can't take back....until now.
I came across an advertisement in a Cosmopolitan magazine offering this new merchandise that I had been kept in the dark about. The product is called Wrecking Balm, it's a way to try to remove the permanent inked skin without the use of laser surgery. It is relatively inexpensive ranging around $50 dollars for their 9 week product and you can typically find it in the pharmacy area of your local drug store/Wal Mart.
Naturally I'm immediately interested because i have one tattoo mainly that I would like to see disappear for good without having to torture myself with 12+ sessions of laser treatment. The product promises to be effective and offers a 60 day money back guarantee. Unfortunately the logics behind it is that it takes longer than 60 days to see any real improvement or results of the tattoo disappearing act.
I've only been using the product for a week and I must say, it's difficult already. My tattoo is a little larger than the palm of my hand and lies beneath my neck and around my upper back. What it is basically is the opposite of the way tattoo aftercare is when you first get your tattoo. It's a very abrasive technique that involves slowly buffing away the layers of skin until you reach the layer the tattoo is lying on. Then once you reach that layer of skin the product buffs out what's left of the tattoo while at the same time your body regenerates to create new layers of skin as it heals itself.
It's a lubricated sand-buffer that so far is without a doubt slowly taking away layers of skin off my back. What I've been trying to keep in mind too is that everyone has different elasticity with their skin and different skin toughness, therefore it could take 9 weeks for the product to "fade" my tattoo or it could take longer.
With the support of my family and friends I will be taking this product with me till the end or until I run out of the abrasive cream... I'm hoping for some sort of result, if it doesn't fade it all the way I'd be satisfied with it fading my tattoo enough so that laser surgery will be more tolerable. I'm not taking laser surgery completely out of the picture but I am hoping the product will fade the tattoo enough so that it is either A. no longer visible or B. easier for the laser surgery to handle.
Wish me luck everyone, I'll gradually keep you updated as well!

Your Energiez!
I'll admit I'm a bit of a sucker when it comes to health and beauty products in general but this one in particular caught my eye after a certain few occurring incidences while making my way around campus from class to class.
I can't stand the "cougher" who exists in almost every class I have on my schedule. It's never that normal clear the throat cough either, it's always that deep coming from the bottom of the lung cough that makes my entire body cringe. Unconsciously I've noticed my body even turns towards the opposite direction of where I hear the cough and my "flight" instincts overpower my mind sending off the red alert 'get me the eff out of here' feeling. Then I find myself wondering why this person is even in the classroom with such an immense disgusting cough. Does he/she not realize they could be spreading all kinds of germs all over the place? Never the less I decided to take a proactive step in helping myself fight these particular individuals passive aggressively of course.
I came across the One A Day multivitamin Energy edition. I'm not a big vitamin taker and probably should be since they have such beneficial outcomes like keeping my inner body healthy. This product though has a little more Vitamin B and a Guarana Blend that is supposed to help support mental and physical focus for day to day tasks. I thought this would come even more handy with helping me focus during my classes in a more natural way than with my all time favorite choice being a coffee beverage.
So far since taking this product I can say it's been doing what it advertises. I feel as if my body is becoming more focused for daily tasks than it would be normally minus the vitamins. This could also be a hoax which I am aware of, almost like a trickery of the mind into believing the product works when it possibly doesn't. Either way I think this is a product worth buying and trying for yourself, what have you got to lose? Check out their website here! and enjoy :-)

This "Travel" Notion is Hard to Accomplish
Working in retail at a local mall near my hometown, you come across some very interesting people. The personality types range from your ultimate cliches of people to your chatter boxes who feel the need to share their life story with you in 10 mins all the way to the extremely disliked nasty customer who thinks you are their butler in a mansion off the coast of California. Needless to say, I'm pretty entertained as an employee when I come across interesting people, I can turn into the voyeur I can be when watching movies. Grab me a box of popcorn and my A.D.D. is satisfied until they leave the store and the next rowdy crew of people stroll on in.
Lately I've been getting the customer who explains to me the mistakes they made in life and tell me to do the complete opposite of them.
"I got married young and didn't get a chance to explore the world, get out their and enjoy life!"
"I waited til I was 33 to get married, I went and enjoyed myself and traveled, you should do the same!"
Now, I'm all for talking to people and understanding why they are the way they are. I love it, I love hearing different people's stories and creating my own opinions about my own decisions in how I live my life. One thing I wish people would understand more is how much more difficult it is to travel today then it was 10, 20, or even 5 years ago.
I'd love to travel the world and see things that I'm not accustomed to living my entire life in North America. I work 2 minimum waged jobs, work less than 15 hours a week, and get paid bi-weekly. Not to mention I have to attempt to afford gas for my car to travel the 4 and a half hour trip it takes to get from home and back to school. On top of paying for the necessities of life like food, bathroom products, and so on. I'm not even paying bills, luckily my parents are saints in helping me pay for that but other than that I simply can't afford to travel anywhere besides my house and back to school.
I understand there are loans you can take out in order to pay for these acts of spontaneous trips to places but there it is again, a loan, something that will take me probably 3 years to pay off even though it was only a $1,000. I started really trying to save my money when I was going into my junior year of college and it took me over a year to save $1,000 of my own hard earned cash. I'm not willing to blow that just yet because I'd like to do other things, like move out of my parents house and try to find a real job.
Can't help but to miss the times I wasn't old enough to be a part of, when it was easier to travel places and really enjoy life for what it is. Now with all the war and violence going on, there becomes another obstacle preventing this ideology that 'traveling' is a way of living life to the fullest.
I must say I've been to different places and have been lucky to go. I feel very blessed to be where I am today and I don't see marriage or being together with someone an obstacle in traveling. If anything I'd rather travel the world with a significant other instead of solo, it'd be way more interesting and fun to share those experiences with someone you care about. Anyway, point blank being life of a college student is hard enough and with times being what they are only adds to the financial troublesome-ness. I'm more excited to graduate and get out of this town then anything and can't wait to experience my life outside of this college town that has grown to be a horrible experience for me personally.
My idea of travel is sharing an experience with someone I truly care about and getting the hell out of the town of Oswego moving on to way bigger and better things.

And the winner for stupidity goes to...
I recently discovered that there has been an "anti-obesity" movement encouraging people to get active and stop being the lazy Americans we are often pinned to be. At first I'm very fond of this movement, I mean it's a great idea, let's take the extra effort in getting the facts out, that diet and exercise is indeed important in our overall health as human beings.
This campaign mainly being publicized by Michele Obama has some really great intentions. They are asking a majority of restaurants in Massachusetts to post the calorie count on their menus as well as getting some public schools to be more proactive in ensuring that their students are in the average height and weight percentiles. They are also pushing hospitals to serve more healthy foods in their facilities and presenting grants to employers for having a workout place or workout programs in their workplace.
The efforts to reduce obesity seems as if their doing a relatively good job overall. I felt this way until I came across an article disclosing that Michele Obama is discontinuing the love-able cereal of many generations, Captain Crunch. I had a "a-baaah" moments and needed to do a few double takes when I stumbled upon this information. My immediate thought being, what gives her the right to enforce this and who does she think she is for doing so? You can check the article out here and formulate your own opinion regarding this issue but mine stands strong. This is clear stupidity.
With so many other horrible foods out there in the consumer market today, why is Captain Crunch being targeted as "the bad one". Let's not forget that McDonalds and Burger King isn't exactly your organically healthy choice when making a meal decision, but no let's discontinue Captain Crunch instead. Taking a look at other cereals that I'd hate to say it but are deserving to be in the running over Captain Crunch to be discontinued are Lucky Charms, Cookie Crisp, and Trix. With these cereals being almost equally as unhealthy for you why is the Captain being hit with the daggers? Especially in the aspect of children, what about certain sodas such as Mountain Dew which is basically one step away from being anti-freeze yet that is still on the shelves today and going strong making kids bounce off walls with sugar kicks.
I guess the old saying, "to each their own" comes into play but I feel there are so many better ways to go about furthering this "anti-obesity" movement like the ones I've mentioned above. This is basically another way for the Obama administration to brainwash their followers instead of helping them make a "change" for a better lifestyle. If you're offering a "change" to be made then it shouldn't be forced upon you by discontinuing certain foods, what's next? Banning certain books? Allowing gas prices to reach obscene prices? This isn't the "change" I was expecting...

Can't See the Sunlight
Social Networking, what exactly is the deal? I must say I give all kinds of props to the big PR firms as well as the little guys for actually sitting through nonsense after nonsense of meetings trying to figure out what exactly the people want.
I've been a member of the Facebook community for around 4 years now and recently I've been noticing some trends. One being the relationship gender gap. Since I am not nor have I ever been a male I can't necessarily say if the same rules apply but as for the female side of things I have notice a big decline in the amount of messages I receive from friends. What exactly is it that prevents people from leaving messages on friends walls?
There must be an unwritten law of such dictating what is and is not acceptable. Generally the humane code is to respect the relationship status of a person and keep messages friendly, since there is no need to stir up unnecessary drama. Less and less of my male friends have been leaving comments on my wall and/or statuses. Is this their idea of respecting a female friends relationship status? Or is it indeed true that Facebook is nothing more than a website for hooking up sexually?
If so, why don't the same rules apply on the male side of things? If I said I didn't check my boyfriend's Facebook I'd be lying...now no lines have been crossed on the behalf of other females leaving comments on his wall, but still is there the same respect lines for males in a relationship as there are for females? It seems as if females don't necessary care what the status of a male is, they'll choose to leave comments regardless. But looking back, does this indicate some underlying sexual need for attention shared by the female community? If he has a girlfriend, why is it all of a sudden more compelling to attract his attention than usual?
This isn't the only thing I've noticed. When trying to attract attention of my fellow facebook friends, only certain statuses will gain precedence of popularity over others. Sadly they are never positive statuses. It seems to be true the old cliche that 'misery loves company' the more negative things I posted about general situations such as the weather or the fact of disliking humanity from time to time. Why are we as a society so compelled to share our grief with other people and not our happiness? It's almost as if we are setting up the example that being happy within the virtual world is something you keep to yourself, very rarely do people want to see each other happy or much less hear about it.
This is also where I notice another gender gap. Being a female and posting negative statuses gave me more hits than any type of positive ones I left. On the other hand, my boyfriend, who is always a very happy person to begin with, will generally post very happy and motivating facebook statuses. And more often than not he gets around 5 or 6 hits on almost every one. This is also where the relationship gender gap comes into play as well.
So what exactly are people looking for in a social networking aspect? I even have been taking this idea to my blog. Generally trying to post very positive things about subjects I enjoy in the hopes to gain positive feedback and comments in return. For the most part it has been a success. With everyone entitled to an opinion where is the humanity line drawn? From an innocent topic to that of a new Britney Spears album I've received feedback that I was not necessarily expecting. Then again here is an individual doing very well for herself and we are not able to express genuinity to her success.
Yet a subject such as rising gas prices inflicted the same negative feedback as my blog about Britney Spears. I made a facebook status regarding the current events of gas prices being at an all time high for this particular time of year and how we should all be upset as a nation willing to take control to change it. The feedback I got was basically "you're on your own with that one". My concern lies in the alliance we share as a community of people being screwed by our government. We care less to do anything about such monstrosities, we just lie on our asses and take it. The saddest thing is that we continue to talk about the mishaps of Charlie Sheen. This topic alone gained more hits and arose more emotion within people then our government's gas price crookery.
So what is everyone looking for in a blog or facebook status update? Is it truly another popularity contest or have we become deeper than this elementary school ideology... I just can't see the sunlight.

Keep on Dancing Til the World Ends
Britney Spears has had her very public and very media-sized melt down not too long ago. Since that point she has successfully been working to turn herself around and reach out to her fans for support along the way. As a die hard Britney fan I must say she has increasingly become more idol worthy since this horrible mishap. From hitting rock bottom she has been clawing and scratching her way back to the top and it should absolutely be acknowledged. For me personally her efforts to clean herself up show me how anyone is able to take a bad situation and make something wonderful out of it, which she has. Her new album is proof of such.
Our very own queen of pop has graced us with yet another leaked track off her new album Femme Fatale. Britney Spears has been working hard during the production of this album for close to 2 years now and we'll finally be able to see the outcome of her work soon! So far she has yet to let her fans down, and claims this album is her best album to date. Her recently aired music video for her song "Hold It Against Me" has received over 18 million hits on youtube alone in around 2 weeks. It's easy to say that her fans are eager and awaiting this album set to be released on March 29th, with it's date being pushed back 2 weeks it's only leaving us foaming at the mouth waiting for more. She has released the new track "Til the World Ends" on her bandpage on facebook. You can check it out here and like her on facebook! It seems as if she's been using more techno beats and futuristic sound to up the rhythm of this new album and it's been working out so far.
Keep on rocking Britney!
