I was raised as a Catholic and when I was younger my ultimate favorite part of Easter was...the chocolate. I do apologize God for my childlike mindset but as an openly admitting choco-holic I can't help but to feel those little tingles build up inside of me when I see the very first Easter chocolate set up in any grocery store. There's always that one specific type of chocolate that makes my mouth and mind melt.
I will always go on a mission to obtain it, and on a recent trip to the Price Chopper in town the mission was on. I walked down those long narrow aisles of food displays with one thing and one thing only on my mind. I rode the cart down and made a sharp turn to the left secretly hoping no one was coming around the corner to cause a small rukus preventing me from doing what I was sent there to do. I couldn't be having any distractions but at the same time my death perception was at a low since this task was more important than a potential cart collision in Price Chopper, a price worth paying in the end.
I finally came to it, an array of deliciously displayed chocolate...I was so taken back by what I saw that I unconsciously circled the display twice just taking it all in, like a shark circling it's prey. The more times i circled, the more I grew concerned...did they really not have it? "UNACCEPTABLE!" I shouted in the middle of the frozen meat section (oddly enough that's where they placed the chocolate table).
Cadbury Mini Eggs...THE most incredible tastey treat I've ever had the pleasure of consuming. This specific chocolate only comes around during the Easter season, and once the season is over so is the selling of this magnificent piece of food art. So you understand my concern at Price Chopper, with this being a seasonal chocolate I needed to stock up and enjoy it for as long as possible, and it was not present at the PC. A complete and utter disappointment.
Cadbury chocolate is a British confectionary company. This chocolate is so incredibly good and has such high quality that The Hershey Company also decided to distribute some of the chocolate throughout the United States (thank goodness) saying this would expand there profits internationally. There was a controversial buy in from Kraft as well to get a piece of this amazing company. In January 2010, the two companies came to an agreement settlement and Kraft purchased shares of Cadbury increasing their share value to about $19 a piece. With this combining of two great companies Cadbury was able to make itself the largest confectionary company in the world.
Point blank being, Cadbury Mini Eggs are the best chocolatey treat anyone could ask for during the Easter season and if you're looking for some top quality delicious chocolate any Cadbury product will do just the trick. Check out Cadbury's UK website here! To all my choco-holics in the world, bon appetit!
Great blog post! I can relate, I always super excited when Easter rolled around because that is when some of my favorite candy is available (the Cadbury eggs and Peeps). I agree that there is just something about the Cadbury eggs where it seems I just can't get enough. I actually saw a web site a while back that showed how to make your own version of them. Man, I wish I remember where I saw that haha.
ReplyDeleteI think Peeps edges them out as my favorite Easter candy though.
I totally remember waking up on Easter when I was wayyy younger, and every year, my three brothers and I would have these big, hollowed out chocolate figurines. We'd never be able to finish it all that quick, they were probably about the size of our heads and the chocolate probably a half an inch thick. One year, I remember getting a rollerblade, though that's the only one I remember exactly. Easter candy is phenomenal, but I'm a huge fan (for every holiday) of all the different types of Reese's. They have the Christmas Tree ones, the Heart one's for Valentine's day, now the Easter egg ones.
ReplyDeleteDamn. I need to keep up with Angelia's posts right now. The last thing I need, is sugar. haha
Believe it or not, I'm the only one in my family that likes these, which led to me never getting them on Easter since mom put the same things in all of our baskets. I would have to save my bottle and can money and buy these myself. I still love them, but given the topic of my blog, you can see why I'm choosing to go without this crack-like candy this year.
